Final year students of Bharathiyar University have alleged that they have faced difficulties during the mock test which was conducted by the university on Wednesday. A mock test was conducted for final year students who are studying in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses at Bharthiyar University and its affiliated colleges, with the aim of training the candidates for the online exam which is scheduled to be held September 21 to 30.

A final year student of Bharathiyar University, said, "Due to server problems, we had to wait for more than one hour in front of the computer at home to log in to the university website to download the question paper. After rectified this issue, I have download question paper and started to write the answer in A4 white sheet they have given time till 1 pm. After completing the exam, we took a photo of the answer sheet and converted it into a PDF to upload it on the website. Unfortunately, we could not upload it even after an hour and finally, we have sent the answer sheet to our head of the department through the mail after 2.15 pm. I was in anxiety till submitting the answer sheet," she said.

Another student of a private college in the city said, -"Server issue was there for nearly 40 minutes. During the examination, no faculties monitored us by a web camera. There were chances of students being involved in malpractice." A top official in the controller of examination section of the Bharathiyar University said, "Since nearly 35,000 students have tried to log in on Wednesday morning, the server had gone down. But we rectified it and this issue would not come in the upcoming examination. A few students have faced this issue. Similarly, some students struggled to upload their written answer sheet on the website. We have extended time from 1.40 pm to above 2 pm to upload the answer sheet on the website. Nearly 29,000 answer sheets have been uploaded by 1 pm. This number may increase and we are checking it. Moreover, we have asked feedback from colleges about the mock test to improve our online exam," he added.

When asked about monitoring the exam, he said, "We cannot monitor all students completely during the online exam and there are practical difficulties. We believe that students would not involve in malpractice and we have been taking steps to monitor students in all aspects
