Screengrab of the website

Minutes after releasing the NEET 2020 results, the National Testing Agency (NTA) website crashed and went under maintenance. Even though the direct link to the results page loaded, the security pin did not load and is not working. But sources assured that the site will resume soon.

While this is not unprecedented as the site was overloaded with too many aspirants trying to log in at the same time, the NTA official website now says that it is under maintenance. "The NEET UG Result will be available soon," reads the only text on the website. Students and parents took to social media to complain about the issue.

This year, over 14.37 lakh candidates appeared for the medical entrance exam on September 13 despite the COVID-19. The results were scheduled to be announced on October 14 at first but the Supreme Court changed the declaration date to October 16 allowing students, who couldn't appear earlier to take the exam. Those who will secure 50 percentile or above will be considered successful, however, seats in medical and dental colleges will be offered based on merit-based counseling. The counseling will be held by the National Medical Commission (NMC) which has now replaced the Medical Council of India (MCI).
