Goa child rights commission organises series of webinars to create awareness amid COVID-19

The Goa state Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) has organised a series of webinars to create awareness in the society and to circulate among all the stakeholders.

On October 3, 2020, a webinar would be organised on the topic of mental well-being of children during COVID -19.

The Webinar would be moderated by Shashikant Punaji, Member of Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR).

The Resource persons are Dr Peter Castelino, Director of COOJ Mental Health Foundation, Anjali Barreto, Speech Therapist from Sethu and Member of the GSCPCR and Ketaki Gadekar, child psychologist and Member of GSCPCR.

The topic for the webinar on October 6, 2020, is prioritising issues of care and protection during COVID-19 for children in difficult circumstances.

The Resource person is Dr Shekhar Seshadri, Senior Professor, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Associate Dean, Behavioural Sciences, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore. Similarly, another webinar has been scheduled on October 17, 2020 - navigating through Juvenile Justice Systems in times of COVID-19.

The Webinar would be moderated by Adv Sushma Mandrekar Chodankar, Chairperson, GSCPCR.

The Resource persons are Vandana Tendulkar, Ex- President of the Children's Court for the State of Goa, Arun Pandey, Director of Anyay Rahit Zindagi (ARZ) and Esther Roe Torres, Ex- Member of Child Welfare Committee, South Goa.
