One of India’s largest internship and training platform, Internshala has launched the Grand Summer Internship Fair (GSIF) 2020. The online fair brings exciting internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates in India. In addition to full-time internships with popular brands, the key highlight of the online internship fair are the 600+ work-from-home internship openings in the wake of COVID-19.

The application window for the internships is from March 28 to March 31. The fair includes exciting internship opportunities with brands including OnePlus, Capgemini, Xiaomi, HCL, TVS, TikTok, Calvin Klein, Truecaller, Hyatt, Decathlon, and BoAt. In addition to this, all the internships in the fair will come with a stipend. The highest stipend being offered is INR 75,000.

On the launch of GSIF 2020, the founder and CEO of Internshala, Sarvesh Agrawal said, “The Grand
Summer Internship Fair is one of Internshala’s flagship campaigns. Through the summer internship fairs, we have been able to reinforce our mission of bringing meaningful internship opportunities closer to the students of India. In the past decade, internships have become the sought-after learning opportunities among the students of India. Internships have successfully proved to be the best experiences to polish their skills, learn new skills, and earn practical experience.”

He added further, “This year, when India is facing the unfortunate pandemic of COVID-19, we have also brought 600+ work-from-home internship opportunities for the students. These internships are to ensure that the students can be hired through online modes and can work from the safety of their homes”

When asked if the number of work-from-opportunities were on the riseq, he said, "Yes, the number is increasing over time. Over the period of the past two weeks, we have seen an upward surge of 25% in the number of work-from-home internships posted on Internshala. In addition to this, the number of students applying to work-from-home opportunities has risen by 8%."

He added, "While the concept of virtual internships may be new for the students in India, it is also an opportunity for them to learn various skills that will come in handy when they working full-time in the future. These skills include remote coordination, agility, adaptability, creativity, problem-solving, forward-thinking, and flexibility in learning and performing various other tasks."

The fair offers internships to students of various educational backgrounds including management, engineering, design, and media. Some of the top internship profiles include marketing, content writing, web development, sales, data science, graphic design, and human resources (HR).
