Udupi District Health and Family Welfare Department have confirmed that an SSLC student from Kaup taluk has been tested positive for COVID-19.

She had written the Kannada and Mathematics exam on June 25 and 27 respectively.

Her father's swab test report came out positive on June 27 and subsequently she was also tested for novel coronavirus on the same day.

The report of the test came on June 28, in which she has also tested positive.

The student will miss the opportunity to write the Science Paper scheduled for June 29.

Health officers have made it clear that there is no need to send other students for check up as the authorities have taken all possible precautions, including safe distancing and usage of sanitisers at the examination center where she had written the previous exam.
