The Pondicherry University administration has permitted the assessment of students of their affiliated colleges to be based on their  internal marks and internal continuous assessment. However, this would only be applicable to students of even semesters, except the final semester or year.

The notice from the University said that this new rule would apply to those who had to take up exams during April, May of this year. “There will be no University examination for students of lower semesters,” the notice said.

“This assessment is applicable only to the regular papers offered during the even semester, not applicable to arrear papers. Dates for arrear examinations would be intimated in due course,”the administration informed the students.

Earlier today, the Tamil Nadu government cancelled that tenth standard board exams, followed by the Puducherry government doing the same. Ever since the lockdown came into force, students across the country have been against online exams being held. The Pondicherry University Students’ Union has also been protesting against online exams owing to many students not having access to internet.
