The portal for online applications for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) will be open from 6 pm on July 15 and the last date of submission is August 16, announced Higher Education Minister KP Anbalagan.
The exam results for Class 12 students have not been released in view of the COVID pandemic which has, in turn, delayed the application procedures of all higher educational institutions. The Higher Education Minister said that students can now apply for the engineering course through the official website http://tneaonline.in/ from 6 pm. Anbalagan has announced that applications can be submitted till 6 pm on August 16. He also explained that no fees will be levied for the application to any of the 465 engineering colleges.
The Minister also added that the engineering course counseling will be held from September 17 and all arrangements have been made to complete the process by October 15. He also said that the colleges are not likely to open for the time being. Until a few years ago, Anna University was conducting the consultations for engineering in Tamil Nadu. But it is run by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education at present. The consultations will also, in all probability, take place online.
