The Delhi University on Tuesday told the Delhi High Court that they are set to conduct the Open Book Exams remotely from August 17 to September 8 followed by two phases of mock tests. They also added that results will be declared starting from the first week of October and will go on till November 30.

The university administration declared fresh dates after the Delhi HC asked them it to file an affidavit on July 9 with the new schedule of final-year exams. "The examinations in OBE mode to be conducted remotely shall begin from August 17, 2020, and shall conclude on September 8, 2020. The date sheet for Undergraduate programmes is enclosed. The date sheet for postgraduates programmes and professional courses shall be released on or before July 20, 2020," read the affidavit. The exams have been scheduled in three slots every day — 7.30 am to 10.30 am, 11.30 am to 2.30 pm and from 3 pm. "The University will make best efforts to declare the results expeditiously. However, depending upon the number of students who have appeared for the OBE remotely, it is expected that the declaration of results for different courses shall start from the first week of October onwards and conclude latest by November 30, 2020," added the notification.

For those who miss the online exams on the mentioned dates, the administration has provisions for students who cannot take the online exam as well. "Simultaneous preparation will also be made for the conduct of another additional round of examinations (in online/offline/blended mode) for those students who are unable to take the examinations to be held from August 17, 2020 onwards," it read. "This special dispensation is being made as a one time measure for the convenience of those students who may be unable to participate (wholly or in part) in the examinations scheduled to begin on August 17, 2020. Accordingly, the preparation for the same shall also be done simultaneously as per the Guidelines and SOP for the purpose as instructed by MHRD and as per notification issued by UGC dated July 8, 2020. For the conduct of these examinations the format of examinations shall be same i.e. OBE, however the duration shall be only two hours if the examination is held in the offline mode as there will be no requirements of ICT facilities for which one additional hour time has been given. However, this shall be subject to prevalent situation at that point of time," said the notification.

The students will also get their results fast and they can print it themselves. "The statement of marks for the students whose results have been declared through the computer processing shall be given a web-based statement of marks immediately after the declaration of results. In other cases, where the results are processed manually, the statement of marks will be given after 10 days from the date of declaration of results. The transcripts as per the request of the students who have been declared passed shall be given after 10 days from the date of submission of complete applications for both phases of examinations," it added.
