Almost two months after its usual date, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Friday declared the results for ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations for the year 2020.

Students can check their results on cisce.org, results.cisce.org. They can also check the results through SMS. Students can type ICSE their roll number for 10th standard results and ISC their roll number for 12th standard results and send it to 09248082883.

The exams which were scheduled in February had to be suspended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the remaining exams were initially postponed to July, the rising COVID cases in the country prompted the board to cancel the remaining exams.

So, how are the results out? Students who couldn't appear for their board exams in a particular subject will be evaluated on the marks they had obtained in the internal school examinations. But, the council has also given the students an option to re-take the examinations later, in case they aren't satisfied with their results based on internal assessment.

In order to evaluate the marks of the subjects for which examinations could not be held, the council has decided to calculate the average of the best three scores a student got from among the papers for which exams were held. Seventy per cent weightage has been assigned to this. The other thirty per cent will be evaluated from the internal examinations, said the council. Internal examinations can also include any project work that the students had done during their final year.

Out of the 2,07,902 students that appeared for the ICSE examinations this year, 2,06,525 students passed while 85,611 students passed in the ISC examinations out of 88,409 students.

The council has also decided not to publish a merit list this year due to the same. They have also decided not to hold a press conference owing to the pandemic.
