"The website focuses on solving three major issues faced in the conventional voice-over service industry – fewer choices of voices for the client, higher costs because of multiple intermediaries involved, slow delivery time because of delayed coordination among middle-men," says its founder Sourav Jandial, "We give a direct review of the voice samples by the client and subsequently awards job directly to the artists, thereby eliminating the chain of middlemen and hence, reduce the project cost considerably, thereby benefitting both the client and the artist."
Voyzapp apparently hosts thousands of voice artists and offers search criteria where customers can simply search for the voice samples based on language, category, gender or age. "The technology-powered system offers a ‘voice shopping experience’ where customers can search for the voice of their choice, listen to voice samples, compare prices and delivery times of different artists and get their project started instantly," says Sourav.
Sourav tells us how the voice-over industry is growing steadily in the country. "In the era that we are living in, everything is going audio-visual. Whether its an audiobook, an animation video, an e-learning module, a documentary, a movie, a video game, a corporate presentation, an advertisement or a radio jingle — we cannot imagine any of these without a voice! As such, the demand for voice-overs is growing rapidly and so is the demand for voice-over artists," he says.
Will one need any specific qualifications to establish a career in this field? To this, he says, "You do not need to undergo a particular course, but to hone these to perfection and sustain a successful voice-over career, budding artists must consider taking up voice-over training courses. There are various voice coaches who have years of experience in providing specialised training by exposing actors to new concepts and techniques of the voice industry. With the world becoming a digitised space, you can also avail various courses online to sharpen technical skills like voice modulation, accent training, accurate diction and microphone handling."
