Pondicherry University students embarked on their fifth day of protests against the fee hike and transportation fee. The students have been on protest since Thursday after the administration allegedly refused to deduct the academic fees and withdraw the transportation fees that had been imposed on them.

The students said that the administration had promised to constitute a grievance committee to address their issues after they went on a hunger strike. However, the students were not happy with the way the meetings had been held, claiming that the administration was turning a 'blind eye' to their concerns. Which is why they had decided to launch the second strike.

Several cops had turned up on campus after the students marched into the admin block of the campus to demand answers from the VC. However, the students say they will continue to protest till there is a proper deduction of the fees and the transportation fee is withdrawn.

The students gathered today to make posters as they urged others to join them at the admin block for the protests.
