The students and professors of Krishna University in Vijayawada raised complaints stating that drinking water and electricity facilities were not available for a week in the university premises. A video of them discussing the same with registrar K Krishna Reddy went viral on social media. When contacted, Reddy refused the allegations and stated that only drinking water facility was interrupted for two days.

He asked, "How could we have conducted exams in the previous week if electricity and water facilities had not been there? We have also declared the results for the same.". Explaining further, he said, "Due to the financial losses incurred as a result of COVID-19, we were unable to pay the vendor who supplies drinking water to the university. Since the water available here is unhygienic for consumption, we buy RO-purified water from a private vendor." While the university is yet to pay the water bills, the officials have managed to convince the vendor. On Thursday, the vendor resumed the supply of water.
