TN postpones college, university exams to beginning of next semester

Laying rest to rumours and relieving students of much stress, the Tamil Nadu higher education department has decided to postpone the exams to next semester. After the postponement of school exams and board exams, the government has decided to postpone University and college exams as well.

Ever since the entire country went on a lockdown due to COVID-19, students have been stressed because it is the exam season. However, now the students can breathe a sigh of relief as the government has said the exams would be conducted in the beginning of the new semester. Apoorva, Higher education secretary has said in a statement, "The exams will be conducted at the beginning of the next semester. This decision applies to arts, science, engineering, polytechnic colleges."

The secretary noted that students from various other regions, states and countries were studying in colleges in the state and it would be unfair to them to conduct the exams during this time.  Also with the current situation, the department stated that it would be difficult to hold the exams. The department has also announced that it would decide on a reopening date shortly and declare the same.
