Ed-tech startup Illumnus creates innovative campaign April School Month to deal with lockdown
The unique campaign will help people fight boredom and restlessness due to the long-term lockdown
As the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, Illumnus, an ed-tech startup by IIT Bombay & BITS Pilani alumni, is focusing on creating awareness through its unique campaign April School Month, fighting the odds of this fatal virus. The team at Illumnus is running this month-long intensive campaign to focus on Four Key Areas - 7 Days of quarantine words, 7 Days of mental health, 7 Best Short Reads and 7 Days of learning from home.
This unique campaign running from April 1 to April 30 will help people in fighting boredom and restlessness that is spreading across due to the long-term shutdown. The campaign will run with the hashtags #AprilSchoolsDay #AprilSchool #AprilSchoolMonth highlighting how the April school days have now turned to virtual learning.
Speaking about the idea generation and implementation of this rather out of the box campaign, Akash Singhal, Founder & CEO, Illumnus said, “These are tough times for those suffering from Coronavirus along with those that are fighting out in the open against all odds like doctors, police personnel, workers etc. and we are immensely thankful to them. But at the same time there is a huge population that is doing it’s part by staying indoors, in the long term which will lead to mental tiredness, boredom and most importantly the circulation of fake news. As an organization that promotes education and awareness, it is our responsibility to work on these lines and hence the campaign ‘April School Month’ has come into force. It is important that while we are put inside our homes for good, we do some good for ourselves and our society.”
The campaign is divided into four stages, each stage continues for 1 week (7 days). The first stage - 7 Days of quarantine Words which is currently ongoing, is working on bringing about a clear understanding of the 7 most talked-about words right now such as COVID-19, Self-Quarantine, social distancing etc. So, the brand is sharing posts on Keywords with short descriptions in their Instagram bio and on Facebook. The main objective is that people look into the correct meaning of these words and do not spread misinformation. Illumnus truly understands that wrong information is poisonous in many ways, at least in sensitive times like these.
Second stage - 7 Days of mental health is planned keeping in mind that during these 21 days of lockdown, people might face a little bit of mental hardship. Hence in these 7 days of mental health talk, Illumnus will talk about the pros and cons of working from home, and the need of being on top of our mental health while in quarantine. Tips, articles, quotes, cheer up movies, ted talks etc. are the types of content that will be shared during this week, which will develop a spirit of positivity across.
Third stage - 7 Best Reads will be a great platform for sharing the space with the readers across the country. In this stage, Illumnus will share 7 short eBooks, blogs or other resources with the social media audience. The main aim of sharing the content will be that every content should have a purpose and value addition in the life of the reader.
Last stage- 7 Days of learning from home will talk about how students can continue their learning process from home with the idea "learning should never stop, no matter what". The brand will share resources where necessary and additionally will also talk about how Illumnus can help them with the same.
