Karnataka Government releases CET results in record time, Kodagu at the top with 94.73 pass percentage

In what can be termed as fast and furious action, the Government of Karnataka has released the Common Entrance Test results in flat 21 days of students attempting the exam. These exams were conducted amidst the ongoing pandemic on July 30 and 31. Out of 1,94,419 candidates who applied for the exam, only 1,75,349 candidates attempted it in 497 centres in Karnataka. As many as 1,29,666 students secured ranks in the Veterinary Science stream and 1,29,611 students in Yoga and Naturopathy while 1,55,552 have been declared eligible for E-Pharma and D-Pharma and over 1,55,627 candidates have secured ranks in the stream of Agriculture. Also, over 1,53,470 students secured ranks for Engineering seats.
 
The Government of Karnataka had made special arrangements like providing separate exam centres for COVID positive students. Around six COVID-positive students attempted their exams across Karnataka and they were dropped back to the hospitals and quarantine centres in an ambulance. As per the announcements made by Dr C N Ashwathnarayan, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Higher Education, a total of 80 students scored 60 out of 60 in Biology and three students in Chemistry. But no one scored full marks in Physics or Math.  
 
This year, Kodagu topped among districts in Engineering with a pass percentage of 94.73 per cent while Vijaypura has a pass percentage of 82.98 per cent. Rakshitha M from RV PUC College in Bengaluru bagged the first rank in Engineering, Varun Gowda secured the first rank in BSc Agriculture stream and HC Gourish secured the ninth rank. Shashank P has secured the fourth rank in the Engineering stream. In some good news, two asymptomatic COVID-positive candidates secured rank 214 and 615.
