A teen-aged School girl committed suicide as she got ashamed on being caught while stealing her class mate's mobile phone, in Aralihalli village in Shahpur Taluk in the District on Wednesday.
Police said that 15 year-old Lakshmi Mahadevappa , a class 10 student at NV Girls High School in Kalaburagi, committed suicide by jumping into a well as she was caught while stealing the mobile phone.
The Hostel Warden in Kalaburagi warned her after being caught two days back.
She went to her native village and committed suicide.
The body was sent to Yadgir government hospital for postmortem.
Police have registered a case and investigating.
