Class 10 boy commits suicide after parents scold him for neglecting studies and playing PUBG

In a shocking incident, a Class 10 boy, addicted to the PlayerUnknown's Battleground (PUBG) game, ended his life after consuming pesticide in Visakhapatnam. He took the extreme step after his parents had scolded him for neglecting his studies and getting addicted to the game.

The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old B Lohith, resident of Pedagantyada.

According to New Port Circle Inspector Pydapu Naidu, Lohith's parents gave him a mobile phone which he misused for playing PUBG game a and neglecting his studies. When his parents warned him not to play the game, he did not listen. On August 21, his mother took away his mobile phone following which he had altercation with his parents and committed suicide by consuming pesticide.

Soon after the incident, the boy was admitted to a private hospital. On Tuesday night, Lohith succumbed, while being treated in the hospital.

A case has been filed under New Port police station limits on Wednesday.

The police advised parents to regularly observe what their children are doing with mobile phones and what kind of games they are getting addicted to. Previously games such as Blue Whale had claimed many lives and now the PUBG game is taking many lives. The parents have been told to give children basic mobile phones, if necessary.
