In yet another raid in connection with the Bhima Koregaon case, a Delhi University professor, Prof Hany Babu's house was allegedly raided by Pune police for over six hours. His wife, Jenny Rowena, who is also a professor put up a Facebook post claiming that the police entered the house without a search warrant.  It has been a year since the first spat of arrests in connection with Bhima Koregaon took place.

In her status, Rowena claimed that the Pune police entered their house at 6.30 am on Tuesday morning. "They said that my husband is involved in the Bhima Koregaon case and that for this, they could search our house without a search warrant." The professor teaches at the Department of English and Rowena works at Miranda House.

"They searched the house for upto six hours, took three books, his laptop, phone, hard disks and pen drives," Rowena said.

Both the professors are part of the Alliance for Social Justice, which is a front that includes students, teachers, administrative staff and organisations of SC, ST, OBC and minority communities from DU and outside. Babu has been known to raise questions about casteist practices on campus, "Hany Babu is a professor with Delhi University, and a member of DUTA, whose biggest contribution has been to challenge the caste hegemony in appointments to the university. He is a dedicated teacher and activist who graduated in law to be more effective in his work. This is becoming an everyday occurrence to target people for unrelated and imaginary crimes," Bobby Kunhu, an activist and lawyer said.
