Members of Students' Federation of India (SFI), and All India Students' Federation (AISF) accused the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) of stopping, attacking, and tearing their nomination forms in front of the Arts Faculty's Gate No 4 at the Delhi University. However, the ABVP has countered the accusation saying that the SFI and AISF students had reached late and all the ABVPmembers did was to stop them from indulging in violence.

"SFI and AISF students were on their way to the conference hall to submit their candidature when they were attacked by the ABVP around 2:35pm in front of Gate Number 4 of Arts Faculty. The nomination papers were torn in this attack," said Vikas Bhadauria, President, Delhi State Committee of SFI. "The second attempt by the students to file the nominations with copies of the nomination form was prevented again by ABVP when they attacked the students and tore the nominations forms once again around 2:55pm. Paramanand Sharma, a visually impaired student, and a member of the AISF, and I was brutally attacked in this incident," he added.

The students demanded that necessary steps be taken and the forms of the SFI and AISF candidates be accepted as they had missed their deadline.

Monika Chaudhary, the National Media Convenor of the ABVP called the allegations false and baseless, "Only the candidates were allowed to enter in the premises and outside the authorised premises a huge police force was present. As we are winning the elections SFI and AISA are trying to defame us."

"They came in after the time was up. They came at 3:15pm while the time to file nominations was only till 3pm," said Sidharth Yadav, State Secretary, ABVP Delhi. "They were trying to go inside forcefully which is when we intervened to make sure their violence doesn't win," Sidharth added.
