As the Uttar Pradesh government and state governments across the country directed all institutions to be shut on Saturday when the Supreme Court declares the Ayodhya land dispute verdict, Jamia Milia Islamia too declared that no classes will be held on Saturday and Sunday, neither will the library be open.

The university took to Twitter to announce that all classes have been cancelled for Saturday and the library will also remain closed. But it did not mention a reason. "No classes will be held tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday in Jamia Milia. All departments including library will be closed," the university said. Senior officials of the university later confirmed that it was indeed because of the Ayodhya verdict.

The SC will deliver its verdict on the 69-year-old case between the Nimrohi Akhara, Sunni Waqf Board and Ram Lalla. Whatever be the decision it will definitely take us on to a new era. The state governments and it's police are on high alert to tackle any acts of violence whatsoever. Schools and colleges in UP will remain closed till Monday.
