NEET Results 2019: 42 per cent of the successful candidates are from UP, Maharashtra and Bihar

Out of the 7,97,042 students who successfully cleared National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), 42 per cent (3,34,920) are from the six states with the most number of successful candidates. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the results for the NEET 2019 at 1 pm on June 5.

Topping the list, Uttar Pradesh has 84,982 successful candidates who cleared the exam this year closely followed by Maharashtra (81,171). Kerala too is not far behind with 73,385 candidates successfully clearing the medical exam. Karnataka (64,982) and Rajasthan (64,890) also have a substantial number of candidates who cleared the exam. Despite unending protests against NEET Tamil Nadu stands fifth in the list with 59,785 candidates clearing the exam. Bihar, a state which has been in the news for its universities not functioning properly and it's deteriorating educational infrastructure, saw 44,092 students qualifying in this year's NEET.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted NEET for the first time this year on May 5 and May 20, 2019, for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India with the exception of the institutions established under an Act of Parliament e.g. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.

A total of 14,10,755 candidates appeared for the exam and 7,97,042 of them cleared the exam. The percentage of qualified candidates increased marginally since last year's 56.27 per cent to 56.50 per cent this year. The exam was held in Hindi, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages. Last year Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had conducted the NEET and the results were declared on June 4.

NEET 2019 result is available on NTA's official website ntaneet.nic.in. NTA NEET 2019 result will also be available on mcc.nic.in. Nearly 15 lakh candidates who were arduously waiting for the NEET result can check the same online now.
