Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's suggestion to take up discussion on the National Medical Commission bill around 8.00 pm found little takers in the House on Wednesday.

Soon after the House passed the 'Banning of Unregulated Schemes Bill' unanimously by a voice vote, Birla sought the sense of the House to take up item no 13 — the National Medical Commission Bill.

But members cutting across party lines said "no".

A smiling Birla said since the House is not in agreement, he is adjourning the proceedings for the day.
