BHU resident doctors on strike, demand implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission

The resident doctors of Banaras Hindu University's Sir Sunder Lal hospital went on a two-day strike on Monday, affecting the health facilities.

According to the official sources, the doctors are on a strike till Tuesday, demanding the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations. The agitating doctors were also not attending to the OPD patients, forcing people coming from far-off areas to return to their homes without receiving proper treatment.

The sources added that except the OPD facility, other healthcare facilities were being provided to other patients.
