Recently, in an alleged case of ragging, a class eleven student of a government school in Kerala was beaten up by his seniors after he complained about it, reports said on Tuesday. Soon after this, in another similar incident, Amal Sidan, a Plus I student of MKHMMO Higher Secondary School, Manassery, was brutally beaten up by his seniors on the school premises on Wednesday morning.

Amal Sidan, hailing from Eranhimav near Mukkam, was allegedly beaten by his seniors in the school premises around 8.30am on Wednesday.

Amal's father Muhammed Basheer told Express that he has lodged a complaint with the principal of the school." I have lodged a complaint with the school principal. We have been informed five students who were involved in the act have been suspended pending investigation," said Basheer.

"Two days ago, when Amal and his classmates were on their way to the school canteen, they were stopped by seniors who told them they were not allowed inside the canteen. They didn't argue but returned. When one among the seniors tried to get hold of his neck, Amal pushed his hands away. The physical attack on Wednesday morning was a continuation to this," said Basheer.

"Amal was beaten on the head and all over the body. He is having headache and body pain. He also complained of pain during urination," he said. Amal, who was admitted to KMCT Medical college hospital, Manassery, was later discharged, Basheer said. However, the Mukkam police are yet to receive a complaint in this regard.
