Two months agripreneurship orientation programme launched at TNAU with Rs 10,000 stipend

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University launched two months agripreneurship orientation programme with a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month. The programme offered by the Agribusiness Incubation Society (ABIS) of the university was inaugurated by TNAU Vice-Chancellor N Kumar at the Directorate of Agribusiness Development.

The programme was sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, RKVY Division, New Delhi and MANAGE, Hyderabad will serve as the knowledge partner for this programme, the university said. Graduate youth having an innovative idea and wanting to start an agribusiness venture was asked to apply. After screening, a maximum of 20 candidates was selected for the training with a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month for two months.

The applicants were selected based on the innovative idea and were asked to submit a business plan for the innovative idea. The trainees after successful completion of two months training would be screened and recommended to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, New Delhi for providing a grant up to Rs 5 lakhs, the university said in a release.

The training, which commenced from June 26 would go up to August 25 at TBI, DABD in TNAU Coimbatore. University Registrar AS Krishnamoorthy, Director (ABD) SD Sivakumar, Lead Bank Manager, Coimbatore S Venkataramanan, CEO of TBI AV Gnanasambandam felicitated.
