HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the MHRD has received 1.5 lakh suggestions on the Draft National Education Policy and assured that the government will take all the suggestions into consideration and will try to come up with a policy as soon as possible.

"The people across the country are very excited about the NEP. We had asked the people for their suggestions and have got more than 1.5 lakh replies," said Pokhriyal. "We will try and come up with the policy as soon as we can," he added.

Pokhriyal inaugurated Indian Institute of Technology's Tirupati Stage 1A (Transit) Campus on August 13 and also presided over the convocation ceremony of the first batch of students. IIT Tirupati is mentored by IIT Madras and is, reportedly, the first IIT to move into its permanent campus within four years of establishment.
