Out of 143 disabled students called for TN Engineering admission, 101 allotted seats

Counselling for vocational streams will also begin from June 26 and will conclude on June 28

Out of the 143 disabled students called for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission(TNEA) counseling, 101 candidates were allotted seats on Tuesday.

The in-person counseling for the disabled students was held at Central Polytechnic College, Taramani. The TNEA officials had made elaborate arrangements for the counseling and it ended on a smooth note. At least ten wheelchairs were kept ready at the venue to ensure smooth movement of the differently abled candidates and even a team of doctors was kept ready to meet any exigency situation, informed TNEA officials

According to the TNEA officials, out of the 143 students who were called for counseling, 10 did not take admissions as they fail to get their choice of college while 32 candidates remained absent. The counselling was conducted in two sessions. The morning session was from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm while the afternoon session was held from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

The counseling forwards of ex-servicemen will be held on June 26 while for sportspersons it will be held on June 27. Counselling for vocational streams will also begin from June 26 and will conclude on June 28. It will be held at Central Polytechnic College (Integrated Workshop), Taramani, Chennai.

The candidates can get all details related to the counseling by logging on to the website of Directorate of Technical Education. Candidates can seek admission to BE, B Tech degree programs in government or government-aided colleges, university departments and constituent colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University, and other state-based colleges by participating in the TNEA counseling process.
