Two Kashmiri students have been expelled by the Bhopal-based Kusha Bhau Thakre College for Nursing for allegedly posting objectionable content on the Facebook post on the February 14 Pulwama terror attack. Also, four other Kashmiri students have been suspended by the college administration as they, along with the two students who made the FB post, are untraceable since the matter pertaining to the social media post came to the forefront.

The two students Khalid and Aamir, both B Sc (Nursing) third-year students were expelled by the college administration on Monday late evening for posting objectionable contents on Facebook. According to sources in the college administration, on February 16, some students reported to the administration about the two Kashmiri students having posted the objectionable content on the platform. Two days later,  functionaries of the Hindu Yuva Vahini and the Bajrang Dal reached the college and demanded action against the concerned Kashmiri students.

Police personnel from the Kolar police station rushed to the spot and ensured that there was no trouble. Police forces have been deployed at the college campus as a precautionary measure since then. Meanwhile, after an internal enquiry, both the Kashmiri students were expelled from the college."Two students who allegedly made the objectionable post have been expelled, while four other students, also from Kashmir, have been suspended. The suspension of the four students will only be revoked once they appear before college authorities and record their statements in the matter," college chairman Tazwar Khan told The New Indian Express on Tuesday. "We've submitted a complaint to the local police along with other details about the two students and are cooperating with investigators in all respect," added Khan. According to Bhopal district police sources, there are six Kashmiri students who are enrolled in the college. All of them (including the two students who have been expelled in absentia) are presently not in Bhopal.

The six students enrolled in B.SC (Nursing) II and IIIrd year lived outside the college campus in rented accommodation in two groups of three students each and have gone untraceable since this matter came to the fore."The college administration have handed over to us details about the social media content posted by the two students. The screenshot of the FB content and other relevant details are being forwarded to the state police's cyber cell for cross-verification and further action in the matter," SP-Bhopal South Sampat Upadhyaya told The New Indian Express on Tuesday. Sources in the Bhopal police and cyber cell have not ruled out that the two FB accounts from which the concerned posts were made could be in the names of the two B.SC Nursing students and also contain their pictures, but actually be operated by others.
