Teacher, father of two from Odisha tortures tenth grade student by proposing to her by offering 'exam favours' 

Police said the teacher had proposed his love to the 15-year-old girl many times during tuition classes but  the girl turned down the proposal each time

A teacher of a government high school was booked after he allegedly proposed Class 10 student of his school.

The accused has been identified as Nrusinga Charan Sahu. Heis a teacher of Nuagaon High School in Sakuntalapur under Barachana block in the district. The incident came to fore after the girl's father filed a complaint with the Barachana police against the teacher on Monday. The accused teacher is absconding.

According to the complaint filed with the local police, the victim was taking private tuition from the accused teacher as he belongs to her high school teacher. "The teacher requested the girl's parents to send their daughter for tuition separately so that she could focus on their girl.

As the girl studies in class 10 and tuition teacher belonged to her school where their girl studies, they agreed and send their daughter to him. But on the pretext of imparting him knowledge, he started luring the girl by proposing her love," said a police official, quoting the FIR. The accused teacher is married and father of two children, police said.

Police said the teacher had proposed his love to the 15-year-old girl many times during tuition classes, but, the girl was turning down the proposal time and again. "On Monday the teacher told the girl to accept his love proposal but, she and turned down it.

The teacher also attempted to convince her to accept his love proposal by promising a better help in the coming examination, but she spurned his proposal," police said. The girl narrated the incident to her mother after which a complaint was filed against the accused teacher with the police on Monday night. "Basing on the report we registered a case against the accused and started investigation," he said. The accused has fled from the area since filing of FIR against him with the police. Police have started manhunt to nab him. "We are on the job and conducting raids at his possible hide outs. We will arrest him soon," police said.
