Enterprise Development Centres to spur entrepreneurship at all levels in the country

Proposed Enterprise Development Centres to be set up all levels from national to village level will address the needs of urban as well as rural entrepreneurs and businesses in the country, said Vijay Kumar, Director, MSME - Development Institute, New Delhi.

"Entrepreneurship has become a buzzword today and there are huge opportunities for the entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. Proposed Enterprise Development Centres to be set up all levels from national to village level will address the needs of both urban as well as rural entrepreneurs. As MSME Ministry is coming up with several initiatives to support enterprises, officials at all levels should focus on supporting, handholding, mentoring and aiding the growth of both new and existing enterprises," said Vijay Kumar, Director of MSME - DI, New Delhi, speaking at the 'Exposure Training Programme on Enterprise Development Centre(EDC)' held by MSME-DI, Hyderabad, Ministry of MSME in Hyderabad on Thursday. The two-day training programme is being attended by officials from all MSME-DIs across India.

Vijay Kumar stressed on the need to update knowledge and database in tune with the changing technology and needs of entrepreneurs and the importance of disseminating information to entrepreneurs up to village level.
