The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) should not advance the Group-2 examination as the students of the Gaja cyclone-hit delta districts are not ready yet to write the examination, urged Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, Dharmapuri MP and youth wing president of PMK, in a statement. He expressed his shock over the proposed advancement of the TNPSC Group-2 examination that has been scheduled in February end instead of May.

He recalled that the Gaja cyclone hit the Cauvery delta districts on November 16 and devastated the area. Most of the students who had enrolled for the competitive examination, have lost all their study materials, and electric connections to their houses are also yet to be provided till date.

Hence, they cannot be prepared to take the Group-2 main examination. The situation has remained the same in Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Ariyalur and Pudukkottai district, he further urged. Hence, the proposed Group-2 main examination should be postponed to May as per the earlier schedule for the welfare of the students of cyclone-hit areas.
