Andhra Pradesh's State Women Commission member Koyyana Srivani on November 30 said that students must stay away from Facebook and WhatsApp so that they would not fall victim to deception. She also suggested that girls should not be attracted to the opposite sex in the name of love during the adolescent age.

Speaking at a meeting conducted at a girl's high school in Srikakulam on the occasion of fortnightly awareness celebrations of the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women, Sreevani said the responsibility lies on the youth to protect the tradition and culture of the nation.

On the occasion, District Child Protection Officer K V Ramana said that they have rescued about 800 children in the district since 2014. He also said that they have been conducting awareness drives on the elimination of violence against women in a big way in the district. The school headmistress's R Lakshmi, anti-human trafficking SI S Laxmana Rao and others were present.
