Students of Tirupur School for the Deaf in Murugampalayam staged a protest by begging at the Tirupur Railway station to bring to light the, trust authorities' mismanagement of the fund.

On Tuesday, the students went around begging for money from people telling them there wasn't sufficient fund to run their school.

The students have been experiencing difficulties for several months following a rift among the trustees regarding the ownership of the school.

Following allegations of corruption and embezzlement of the trust's money ny its members,  parents thronged the school and questioned the misappropriation by the current functionaries.

The school was set up in 1997 by Murugasamy, who suffered from hearing impairment. After Murugasamy's death, his wife Jayanthi along with  her relatives took control of the trust and indulged in massive corruption resulting in lack of amenities for the students.

Unable to continue in the deplorable condition, the students took the matter to Muthusamy, the current President, seeking immediate action. Following this, the members brought in by Jayanthi were removed and she was also stopped from interfering in the schools affairs.

But matters got worse when trust members under Muthusamy came to the school and took control during which created more commotion

A case was filed in this regard in the court. On Monday few members of alumni association of the school and parents submitted a petition to the District Collector of Tirupur. However,  the collector refused to interfere as the the case is still pending in court.
