Days after north-Indian students of AMU Malappuram Centre, Kerala, alleged assault, discrimination, and misuse of management, an inquiry team from Aligarh has decided to reach out to the students on Sunday.

It all started with clashes between two groups of students — north Indians and south Indians and resulted in a slew of suspensions and a lot of tension that continued for over a month.

One section, the north-Indian students, began an indefinite strike - a direct result of an attack on an MBA student, Nadeem Ahmed, by goons. The first-year MBA student and a native of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, was thrashed by around 15 people in public and has accused the administration of uniting with local students to cover the incident.

After the incident, the north Indian students submitted an ultimatum, following which a team from Aligarh will reach the college on Sunday for an official inquiry.

The move came after students, whose chief allegation is that they are being discriminated and abused by the students in Kerala, began a hunger strike earlier On Saturday.
