Bribing is not new to the country's politics so it's not very surprising that college elections also have their share of bribing incidents. The only difference is political parties offer people cash, electronic gadgets, ration supplies or clothes- parties in schools have a smaller budget so they can only afford short term benefits for voting for them- fast food and desserts.

Despite it being 'no campaign' day looks like the students at Delhi University are going a step further and beating our politicians at their own game by bribing students on the day too. And with what? Pizza and chocolates seem to be the most popular on the campus.

Chocolate revolution: The NSUI is distributing chocolates to gain some pace in the elections

The pizza has a mini poster sticking out in the middle with the name of the ABVP candidate and the chocolate wrappers have the names of NSUI candidates. Any day better than threats and violence, of course, something that the DU has been known for over the last few years.

After the Left swept the JNU polls, many of the Left party members have claimed that DU will also see the Left rising as well. However, it is left to be seen whether the results will reflect this expectation as DU goes into polling today.
