Imagine that beautiful moment when two people vow to love, honour and cherish each other forever in an elegant ceremony. The image is almost fairy tale-like isn’t it? Every couple wants their special day to emulate a fairy tale and wedding photographer, Aaron Obed, knows just how to capture that.

With a portfolio of over 200 weddings in just 6 years, Aaron has quickly become a favourite in the Chennai wedding scene. Why you wonder? Because his pictures speak volumes. "When I take pictures, I ensure that the couple is fully involved, that they forget everything else around them. Sometimes, couples find it awkward to pose. I spend time with them before the shoot and establish a bond. It's all about the art of making them comfortable in front of the camera," says Aaron.

The 26-year-old who has had several high profile clients over the years confesses that he's still surprised by his success. "I was handed a camera by a friend during a school trip once. I started clicking and was instantly awestruck. After that I watched a lot of videos, read magazines, and followed other photographers. In college, I lied to my parents that I was forced to buy a camera. It took me two years to pay off the debt but it was worth it. I was the proud owner of a Nikon D90, my first camera," reminisces Aaron.

Aaron Obed, Wedding Photograher

Talking about wedding photography as a career and how it has evolved over the years, he says, "Things are different now. There was a time when the profession was not respected. Also, conventional wedding photography meant routine pictures of family and friends posing with the couple. Now, it is more candid and out-of-the-box. There's a lot more creativity involved," he says.

According to Aaron, location and attire play a major role in how the pictures turn out, but the most important detail is the couple themselves and the genuineness of their expressions. He now hopes to help others acquire photography skills without having to break the bank. "There was a time when I wanted to learn photography but I didn't get the opportunity. Now, I plan to start tutorials and open an institute soon," he adds.
