YouTube is a new way to showcase our talent and with a vast audience, says Vaishali Sutar, a DIY artist who runs her YouTube channel Do It Yourself Always. From making a baby hat using crochets to stitching embroidery on a piece of cloth, you will get to learn everything from her channel. Well, there are many such YouTube channels that people can watch to create art.

What is different about Vaishali's channel? She explains, "When I shifted from India to Germany along with my husband, I wanted to decorate the interiors and that's how I started creating some DIY artwork as well as handicrafts." These DIY pieces at her home include paintings, wall hangings, handpainted plates, dining table decor and so on.

Vaishali's friends and family members were quite impressed with her work, and so they suggested to her to create a page on social media or even start a YouTube channel to teach others. That's how her channel Do It Yourself Always DIYA came into existence in 2019, and so far, the DIY artist has uploaded over 100 videos. She says, "Initially, there were not many subscribers but as the word of mouth spread about simple DIY art, the number of subscribers also increased. From having a few hundred subscribers, today, I have over 34,300 subscribers."

Some of her videos that have got the highest number of views include the one with Lippan Art. "The mud and mirror art is famous in India and anybody can do it using simple materials like clay, mirror and a tiny lamp. The mandala dreamcatcher is also one of those DIY works of art that doesn't require expensive materials," says this artist who is currently spending her time in her hometown Pune.

Part of the fun is getting direct, honest feedback on YouTube. She says, "When I receive comments it gives me happiness. These comments have helped me evolve as a YouTuber. During the pandemic period, I got a lot of time to explore different DIY artwork. That's why my recent upload on YouTube includes a DIY baby hat. I hope to put up many such DIY artworks in future and impact people who want to explore DIY art."
