Since India has decided to say ta-ta to TikTok, many video-sharing social networking platforms have been vying for its coveted position of being one of the most democratic social networks. And though Ador was launched last year, it is now part of the race too. Here's how they are different.
Every day is an extra-curricular day on Ador where users can showcase their talent, like drawing, painting, singing — they have 50 such categories — via short videos (not more than one minute, but they are making provisions for five-minute videos too). And in each category, competitions are held. Winners are selected and they go on to compete in monthly competitions. And from there, the winners takes it all, including cash prizes. This app is the brainchild of Randeep Meenagoni and Chandra Shekar Chaganti, Hyderabadi boys who launched Ador under their company FIUH IT Solutions, which they started in 2018 qto develop their own projects.
But you know what's the best part about Ador? "We are working on a movie right now, the storyline is of how India and China have entered a technical war. And the cast and crew for the movie are being recruited via the competitions we are conducting," says 29-year-old Randeep. So from cameramen to writers, everyone will be chosen through the Ador app. Interested? Just showcase your talent and use the correct hashtag — like #shooting or #photography — and the team of six who work at the backend will pick the best of the best. If not the cash prize, you might just bag a part in the movie. "We want to give opportunities to those who are really talented," says the alumnus of Sheffield Hallam University, UK.
The topmost concern with TikTok was privacy, so how will Ador deal with it? This #MadeInIndia app ensures privacy, at least internally, by making sure that users can make their account private which will keep them from even turning up in searches. They can even disable reactions and block messages. Randeep, who hails from a town called Pitlam in Telangana, informs us that the app, which is currently available only on Android, is a work in progress. And every day, they not only add new categories but also plan new competitions and new features. "It is all about talent at Ador, if you have the talent we can help you. Not just in terms of cash prizes and vouchers, we are working on a plan to connect the winners to certain investors so that they can take off on their own," he concludes.
