FIITJEE's new programme is bringing online invigilation or proctoring to a whole other level. The test will follow a three-tier proctoring system that consists of Artificial Intelligence proctoring, Live proctoring and Post Test review. FIITJEE's home-based proctored test's technology is designed in a way to be completely cheat-proof. In the first step of AI proctoring, students' photos are already stored in the database which enables the students' laptop, desktop, phone cameras to make an ID match with the AI face recognition. In the second tire, there is a live human proctor to supervise the students like a teacher/professor does in offline classrooms.

"Live student visuals will simultaneously be sent to the live proctor's account and he/she can monitor ten students at a given time. The entire test-taking journey is recorded, click trends are also documented. Warnings are generated with the help of our AI technology if any suspicious activity is detected and it will be sent to the live proctor via text messages. The AI proctor is like an eye in the sky — it can identify the student's face, does an environment check of the room, detects multiple faces, objects like books, mobiles, secondary sound source, suspicious browser activity and much more. Maybe someone is trying to dictate the answers to the student that will also be detected. The system is foolproof," explains Udit Sawhney, CEO, EdFora, who is taking care of the tech for FIITJEE's proctored test. In the third and the final tier, the post-test review, the human proctors can get back to the recordings and re-check for suspicious activities, other discrepancies and accordingly mark the students.

Given the COVID-19 scenario, FIITJEE has developed a first-of-its-kind Proctored Online Scholarship cum Admission Test (POSAT) for students currently studying in Class XI or those who have already cleared XII and wish to prepare for IIT JEE. The first POSAT is scheduled to be conducted on August 2, 2020, and the students can take the test from home. The students who fare well in the test will also be awarded scholarships by FIITJEE. The institute has tied up with EdFora, an EdTech company that will look after all their technological needs when it comes to the proctored test.

Partha Halder, Director of FIITJEE called this a paradigm shift in Indian education. "Challenges will keep coming in various forms. It is important to be flexible and adapt to newer ways of overcoming those challenges. Innovation is the key essence. Today we are hit by COVID-19 tomorrow it could be something else, so sooner we adapt to the situation it is better for all of us," he said.

Through this FIITJEE will ensure their support for talent and that meritorious student are rewarded. Mock tests are also being provided by them for students to get accustomed to POSAT. Udit also added that this system of test works on low internet bandwidths and the test-taking experience won't suffer. "We have already pilot-tested about 25,000 students and its technology works fine. We are hopeful that we will be able to accommodate more students in the near future," he concludes.
