Despite having become a sports person very early on in life, champion shuttler P V Sindhu said that she never considered quitting studies for the sake of sports, because she believes that they're both just as important. HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju were also part of the discussion.

Answering questions from the audience PV Sindhu said. "I played for fun at first. My parents, both volleyball players, encouraged. You have to enjoy the sport more than winning or losing. It's only the start and every day is progress. I never thought of leaving studies when I was a kid. Studies are as important. But sports help you with your studies as well," she added

Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri, who was also part of the session, said that his battles were different, "Getting sports in my system was not a fight. Both my parents were ardent sports fans and players as well. We were told to focus on what we were doing be it sports or studies. I would ask all parents to support their kids in what they want to. To the kids, I want to say that keep playing and that will teach you more than anything on your books in a holistic way. When you start playing you are more focused on life," said Chhetri.
