This year has been really hard for all of us but parents have been most worried about their young ones who were stuck at home with no school, no friends, no social life and finally no playtime. To cheer the kids up this Christmas, eight children-centric start-ups and non-profits in Bengaluru have come together for a special surprise. With their Santa Comes Home initiative, start-ups like Hullabaloo, Dabble Playcart, Happy Belly Cakes, Toyroom and more have set up a Christmas surprise gift delivery service for kids from December 21 to 24, 2020.

Parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents, will have to choose items from a catalogue of products with a minimum order quantity of Rs 1500 per order for kids. A person dressed as Santa Claus will deliver these gifts to the children's doorstep. Anyone in Bengaluru can book this experience for their kids.

"Children can't go out, but we thought Santa Claus can come home. This was the basic idea behind it. Currently, we are just doing this in Bengaluru," says Nithya David, Co-founder, Hullabaloo. Hullabaloo is an online platform that hosts workshops and experiences by experts, specifically for toddlers. Hullabaloo also hosts free webinars every month for parents on children's wellness.

Karen Saldanha, Co-founder of Dabble Playcart added, "Children have been cooped up in their houses and haven't been able to step out for months due to the pandemic. We wanted to spread joy by creating a fun experience for kids during this time. We have listed Christmas products on a website for people to select from a wide range of items. We have curated products from our own brands." Founded by trained expressive art therapists Karen and Neha, Dabble has a range of toxin-free crayons, finger paints and all kinds of products made by hand using various organic and natural materials that come in fun shapes like cars, buses etc.
