Here's how you can access all your social media handles in one place with the 'My Social Handle' app

A lot can happen over coffee – interesting conversations can lead to unlikely friendships, the unravelling of secrets can take place and even million-dollar business deals can be sealed. But in the case of IIT Delhi alumni Utkarsh Agarwal, a casual ‘cuppa conversation’ with his close friends Shivam Garg, Sudhanshu Gupta and Sarthak Agarwal led to the creation of an app! “We were discussing our college days and wondering what our classmates were up to when we tried to find them on social media. We noticed that it was difficult to find them on certain platforms as the search option yielded no results. It was mandatory to create user IDs to just find profiles!  That’s when we came up with a unique idea,” recalls Utkarsh, adding, “We thought – why not create a single platform that can unify all social media handles? It could help create a universal social media ecosystem.”

Following through, Utkarsh and his brother Sarthak started working on developing the app under the banner of Quaff Media, a digital marketing company they founded in 2016.  Shivam and Sudhanshu joined in too and took care of the designing and coding aspects. “And that’s how our app, My Social Handle, was born,” he beams. My Social Handle lets you search and connect with your friends and contacts across various social media applications easily by using their email, phone number or My Social Handle ID. Once connected, you can easily visit any of their connected social media profiles directly from the app. Users, especially digital marketing professionals, can easily grow deeper connections and leverage their contacts across all mutual social media platforms without needing to track multiple usernames. "The app’s goal is to eliminate the hassle of remembering all social media handles that a person is active on. It also lets you know everything about a person’s social media activity without having to go and search for it. It basically allows our customers to manage their brand presence on social media, as well as engage with their customers from one central location,” explains Utkarsh.

In addition to these features, My Social Handle allows you to create your own e-visiting card. “In today’s increasingly digitised world, old visiting cards are so passé. Our customised e-visiting cards will have your professional details as well as links to any social media pages that you may want to add as part of your portfolio,” he avers. Now, a genuine concern that can crop up in the minds of users, with respect to using an app which divulges all details relating to one’s social media presence, is the question of privacy. But My Social Handle does not consider that a loophole at all. “There is a range of privacy settings that can be customised according to the user’s preferences. They can choose to hide certain activities from the public or even a particular person if they wish to,” Utkarsh points out.

The app is up and running - it has already been downloaded about 9,000 times so far. “We have received access to 1.5 lakh databases and 95 lakh phone numbers so far. We plan to expand with time,” he signs off.
