Zumba, choreography and now, a start-up, Hyderabad-based Disha is up to a lot of things

Their second Listen Up was actually ticketed and yet, it turned out to be bigger and better than the last one. They are rearing to go and do more sessions in the future

It's really difficult to catch Disha Methi Khandelwal because she is a girl on the move, juggling many things at once and acing it all — certified Zumba instructor, corporate and sangeet choreographer under her brand DMK, Co-founder Youek, a franchise partner of a fresh fruits and vegetable outlet in Hyderabad Polimeras, offering psychological innovation in business operation and pursuing Master's in Applied Finances from St Francis College For Women. Can she possibly do more? She thinks so. While all of Disha's endeavours are worth a separate story altogether, what caught our attention was Youek, which she started with 19-year-old Chitin Mitta. "It's all about learning what you are not taught in classrooms," says Disha. Through their various sessions, they attempt to answer questions like how do taxes work? How does one save money? How can one manage time better? And so on.

While their first session on Psychology of Marketing did not quite work out, second and third time was a complete charm for them. Their event Listen Up, where people gathered and shared their stories and learnt from eachother, was a big hit. Their first Listen Up was held in April and the second one in June this year, needless to say, both were housefull. "Any one can speak, it's all about sharing your experience," says the 21-year-old adding that, "Next, we want to organise talks around one book and discuss it in great detail." Plans are to launch YouTube videos as well. "Youek (read you ek) means that there is only one of you and through our initiative, we want people to remember this," says Disha. And right before she signs off, she reveals that she is working on another start-up with Chitin. This time, it is all about coffee. "Our family has farms in Chikmagalur and we want to launch The Coded Coffee, our own brand, around September," says the livewire. Could she possibly do more, we think to ourself.
