Dark, eerie, full of tricks and treats.
Well, it is that time of the year, again: it's Halloween! And it's time to carve that pumpkin, eat candy, of course dress up and finally get into that ghostly spirit. Once trick or treating begins, you will find a lot of familiar movie characters as a part of the crowd and you too have a plenty of exciting characters to choose from this year on October 31. Ranging from Marvel, DC, Disney, Pokemon, Star Wars, to characters from horror movies like Us, IT Chapter Two, and some of the famous series on Netflix and Amazon, you have a plethora of options to choose from. Without further ado, we have curated a list if you need some help.
Look absolutely 'spooktacular' in some these carefully-picked Halloween costumes along with some matching creepy nails I suppose.
An extremely timely and forever spooky costume is Pennywise the Dancing Clown, an ancient cosmic evil which preys upon the children of Derry, Maine, roughly every 27 years, using a variety of powers including the ability to shapeshift and manipulate children. You could definitely go for this as it's been just a couple of months after IT Chapter Two’s big release in theatres. If you want some more encouragement, Demi Lovato just channeled her inner clown for this Halloween with her makeup and costume as Pennywise that's sure to haunt your dreams.
Captain Marvel seems to be a crowd favourite this season. FandangoNOW, an app for streaming TV shows and movies, conducted a survey recently asking millennial moviegoers to choose their favourite movie-inspired Halloween costume this year. The survey found that the top female movie character was Captain marvel, who defeated others like Black Widow, Princess Jasmine and more to clinch the top spot.
Another hot favourite is of course none other than our beloved Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. It is one of the most popular characters of the year and people are making it quite clear by choosing to dress up as him. Wallis Day of Krypton fame, the Syfy series that was tragically cancelled after its second season, also donned the look this year.
What definitely takes the cake this year is the costumes of The Tethered from Jordan Peele's Us. Given the movie’s immense success, this costume is a go to for any group searching for a quick and easy get up this Halloween. Just buy a red jumpsuit and throw in a pair of scissors — although that might turn out to be a bit dangerous!
If you want to keep it cooler, then Chris Hemsworth as Thor in Avenger's Endgame is an instant favourite. People are still fighting over the idea of Thor being a drunkard and being bodyshamed in the movie, but there is no doubt his character has transformed into the most famous pop culture hunk in recent times.
