This poet in Hyderabad has published 5 books before she turned 20!

Not only has Jyoti Patel written five books since 2016, if you ask her what her next book is going to be about, she won't bat an eyelid while laying out the plans for her next three books! That's how passionate this 20-year-old is about writing. After all, it was words who came to her rescue when her father passed away — because of which she had to be homeschooled — and hence, did not have very many friends. "At the age of 12, I was doing the rounds of hospitals and taking care of my father. Through my poems, I express the ordeal I went through. Actually, all my poems hit an emotional chord with the reader," explains the writer. Her poems also cut across various themes which has helped her garner positive reviews.

Jyoti published three books before she turned 18, starting with Sensation of a Soul, a collection of poems and short stories. These books helped her bag the youngest author record bestowed upon her by World Records India. And three months back, she released two books on the same day — The Curved Rainbow and The Forest of Feelings.

The best part? These books also contain some artwork by this writer, "Not that I am very good at it," she shares and laughs. "My next aim is to come out with a full-fledged novel by 2021," says Jyoti who was born in Tandur in Vikarabad district of Telangana and has called Hyderabad her home for the past four years. Why the switchover? "Though poetry is never just about poetry for me. I feel that it's all about putting my emotions forward, I have so much more to put out there that I cannot do it with poetry anymore," says the full-time writer. That is precisely why she wants to talk about subjects like love, relationships, sacrifices, hopes, dreams and more through a novel.

Jyoti already has a lot of experience writing blogs and freelancing, but it is her novel she is most excited about. "I will start working on it from 2020," says the BCom graduate from Siddhartha Junior College with determination. Happy writing to her.
