Are you a fan of quizzes? Are you always on the lookout for something new to learn while also loving a good contest? Mobile Premier League's latest — Quiz — explores anything under the sun — from simple math, general awareness, Indian and world history to sports, business and many more that will keep you engaged forever.

That's not all. Users have won Rs 7 million since the game was made available on the platform on September 13. "We have started opening our platform for developers now. The content is delivered by the developers and we host the tournaments and the battles in partnership with them — the quiz, developed by Qunami, was the first of such games," said Shubh Malhotra, Co-Founder of Mobile Premier League (MPL). "The quiz is a multiplayer battle — for now we have the option for only two people to play but we are working on increasing it to five players. Each player has to answer a total of eight questions. The fastest right answers win. And all of it is in real-time," he added.

The motive was to get youngsters involved and get them interested in quizzing, said Shubh

The games have an entry fee of a minimal Rs 2 to Rs 3 but can win you Rs 70 or more. "We also launched the quiz in Hindi and the participation just exploded — it quadrupled. Qunami's website crashed on the first day of launch because of the humungous amount of traffic," said Shubh who co-founded MPL with Sai Srinivas Kiranin Bengaluru, back in 2018. In the first week of its launch, the Quiz had 1,70,000 users in Delhi followed by 92,000 in Patna. "Around 16,50,000 people from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities played the game while almost four lakh people from Tier 1 cities played it," said Shubh.

You won't find this app on Android's Play Store though. If you are an Apple user it is available on your App Store but for Android lovers, the apk file has to be downloaded from the MPL website. But you get to win real money and hopefully learn things in the process.

MPL, the founders say, stands for competitive gaming and they have opened up their platform for developers from across the country. "Even though we started off with video gaming, we have started to diversify. Quizzing might be consumable in a different format but it's still competitive in nature. That's how we want to increase the bouquet of games and content that we provide," said Shubh. "We work closely with developers and if their content is good, can be played by multiple people and is competitive we give them space on our platform," said the entrepreneur.
