The new app on the block: Voot Kids that combines fun and learning, masti and acchai, launched in Mumbai

The app is unique because it enables parents to monitor the kind of content and the screen time that they expose their children to. It has also been certified by the ECE (Early Childhood Association)

Viacom 18 launched India's first multi-format fun learning app for children between 2 and 8 years, VOOT Kids, in Mumbai, recently. The app contains over 20,000 pieces of curated kids’ content, and aims to make to make screen time meaningful for kids by bringing together children’s favourite popular and premium toons, e-books, audio stories, nursery rhymes and fun learn quizzes all on one single platform, thereby taking care of the reading, watching, listening and learning aspects which contributes to all-round development of the child.

Eminent persons like Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO and MD, Viacom18 Media Private Limited, Gourav Rakshit, COO of Viacom18 Digital Ventures and Saugato Bhowmik, Business Head – VOOT Kids, were present at the event. Saugato said, “VOOT Kids caters to needs of discerning Indian parents who seek meaningful screen-time that aids in holistic development of the child’s mental, emotional and social faculties. The app provides children with a parent-controlled, safe and entertaining content destination.” He further added, “We believe masti should never be served up without acchai and the same holds true the other way around. And this is our guiding philosophy at VOOT Kids”

The evening also featured a panel discussion in which quintessential Bollywood mother Soha Ali Khan, educationist, author and president of Early Childhood Association (ECA), Swati Popat, and television actor and a doting father, Ashish Chowdhry, engaged in an in-depth dialogue on modern learning, progressive parenting and use of technology to make a positive impact. “With growing digitisation, kids are turning into screenagers and everything is a touch away. As a mother, I am constantly juggling between rhymes and stories to keep my child entertained. What works best is a product that seamlessly blends learning and fun thereby ensuring a safe viewing experience which is integral today.
