Why you need to call Hyderabad's Flowerwali for your next wedding anniversary

Sonal Agarwal, the Founder of Hyderabad-based Flowerwali, and her mentor came up with the name while they were driving down a street and trying to find inspiration

Bouquets are passé. If you want to step up your A-game to impress your near and dear, then we suggest you check out the flower arrangements that Hyderabad-based Flowerwali has to offer. Not only do they come in handcrafted boxes with flowers wrapped in premium luxury paper — like velvet matte finish paper — they also come with handwritten calligraphy notes. In fact, the latest recipient of their newly launched Infinity Black Rose, resplendent inside a glass dome, was Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda, that too, on his birthday! Boy, were we impressed. So we reached out to Sonal Agarwal, the Founder and Chief Flower Officer of Flowerwali to know more.

After co-founding Artist Shoppie, a gifting company, Sonal wanted to do something with flowers. "Ferns N Petals (one of India's largest flower retailer) has mastered the art of flower delivery, but they don't offer exotic flowers. We wanted to deliver flowers that are more special, elegant and novel," says the ambitious 24-year-old. And what can be better than flowers that last longer than the usual two-three days? Sonal tells us about how they import their flowers from Holland, the Netherlands and Ecuador to ensure that they are working with the best varieties. They are cut at the peak point, instead of being cut when they are in full bloom, frozen to preserve their natural oils and then, delivered with care. "Don't expect anything simple or mediocre from Flowerwali because we only offer the best," says the youngster who pursued Fashion Designing from Hamstech.

They have also presented their flowers to celebrities like Chiranjeevi's granddaughter, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and more

Enamoured by the delivery system of Swiggy and Domino's Pizza, Sonal aims to make flower delivery stress free. This is a major concern because, upon researching, the entrepreneur found out that one of the main problems when it comes to flowers is that they are not delivered on time and don't look as fresh as they do in pictures. "We want to offer minute-by-minute tracking, just like Swiggy does and even send a picture of the arrangement to the customer before it is sent out for delivery so that they can make changes if they want," says Sonal who credits her Marwadi genes for her business acumen. She already has in place a robust network that helps her associate with celebrities and spread the word about their products.

Flowerwali is also tying up with popular eateries in Hyderabad, like Roastery Coffee House, where they will place their flower arrangements so that it can be noticed by the right kind of crowd. And they are partnering with other popular places so you might be able to spot their flowers in other areas soon. As for the future, Sonal is thinking of collaborating with designers to make designer boxes which could be a collector's item. "In the next five years, we will have a strong foothold in Hyderabad," asserts Sonal.

A few kinds of arrangements they offer:

The Rare Black Rose: This rose stays fresh for over a year. It was launched recently and the first one was gifted to actor Vijay Deverakonda

Infinity Roses: These are roses which are long-lasting. Recently, Flowerwali made these for an initiative of Mercedes-Benz Hyderabad

Embossed Roses: Roses with printed text on it is custom-made by Flowerwali
