We all have our cheat days, those days on which we indulge in lip-smacking delicacies no matter how high on calories or on carbs they may be. So why shouldn't your four-legged best friend have cheat days too? If you are worried about the nutrition, don't be. Woof Basket ensures that your dog's treat is both healthy and tasty and offers a wide range of treats like cakes, cupcakes, treats, jerky and more. If you want to order one too, you'll have to thank and get in touch with Suramya Gaur for it.

Banana honey cake, pumpkin blast and spoil your pooch are some of the cakes that Wook Basket offers

"Once I found a pebble in chew sticks I was giving my dogs and that was the last straw," says Gaur, who is well aware of the preservatives commercial treats have. She decided to go the DIY route and baked some goodies herself. It was with her kiosk at Hyderabad's Sunday Soul Sante, the flea market, where things really took off because of all the positive feedback she was racking in. She even went on to set up kiosks at Roastery Coffee House and Our Sacred Space's flea market. "Incidentally, we celebrate our first anniversary next month," shares an excited Gaur. And for all those who are wondering, a new menu is on the cards as a part of the celebrations, which includes scrumptious pies, doughnuts and special hypoallergenic treats as well.

Tasty treat: One of the cakes which Gaur baked recently

Started from Nallagandla, Hyderabad, currently, Gaur and her husband deliver the goodies themselves, free of cost for a delivery within 15 km. For every kilometer after that, they charge an additional `10. "My dream has always been to work for women empowerment so am searching for women delivery executives, just to do my bit," says Gaur, who hails from Jaipur and has practiced law for three years there. Another option is to pick the order up yourself. They receive as many as five-eight orders per week.

Gaur has completed a distance course of canine nutrition from Centre of Excellence, London. She has two dogs at home and adores them both

Gaur has come up with all the recipes by asking people, following bakers on Instagram and from the internet in general. She makes sure that she uses rice or oats flour, as opposed to wheat flour, so that the treats tick the health box as well.

Health first: Gaur ensures that all her treats are healthy

Woof Basket recently moved into a new kitchen with two ovens, dehydrators, induction and more. In more good news, they now have a permanent kiosk at the recently inaugurated dog park in Gachibowli. But of course, coming so far was not all rainbows and sunshine for Gaur, who has always been inclined towards baking. "My family was very annoyed with me but I just wanted to follow my passion, which is baking. I may not be a good enough baker for humans, but I am good enough for dogs," says the 31-year-old and laughs heartily. She dreams of opening her own bakery one day.
