Mosmuller can help you be more creative

On one Sunday afternoon in November 2017, before the new moon, Julie Carolien Mosmuller, along with 10 to 16 women from around the world, got together on a video call to concentrate on the stillness that exists briefly between the time we breathe in and breathe out — that moment when there is no air in the body. "A lot of creativity resides in that moment," says the 37-year-old, who is a certified relationship and career coach. And just like the new moon is the beginning of a lunar cycle, this point, when Mosmuller started the New Moon Sisters Women's Circle, can be marked as the beginning of a new creation for women.

Mosmuller also conducts workshops like Dancing with Demons, where she encourages women to dance with their critical voices

Women from Europe, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Burma, India and many other countries sign up for this one-hour call that happens over Zoom, a platform that provides high definition video conferencing services. But before this call, Mosmuller asks them to set up an altar and decorate it with flower and incense. "The altar could have an idol, a piece of art, anything — the idea is to surround yourself with what you love," says the Puducherry-based coach. Every circle starts with meditation and then for 10 to 15 minutes, each woman moves intuitively, with their camera off, in their own privacy. "Some may fall into stillness, while others may feel strong emotions, but what all of them find is a new energy," says Mosmuller. The session concludes with everyone sharing their experience. But why only women, we wonder. "We need women-only spaces to design societies beyond patriarchy and celebrate our own sisterhood," she concludes.
